Sorry for the (extreme) delay in posting this week’s bag. I have been out for the count with whatever nasty cold is going around. Last Saturday, I had to ask D to go and get the veggies because I was too sick to get out of bed. Blech.
The haul was enough to cheer me up though. It was a pretty bag full of pears, beets, turnips, parsnips, and flat-leaf parsley. The pears have been slow to ripen, but are being very considerate and ripening one at a time. This means that we get to eat one each say and not have to feel like if we don’t eat them all this very minute, they will go off. I’m about to go and make a beet and parsnip soup recipe that was recommended by the farmer’s market. I’ll post the recipe and let you know how it turns out.
